Miradi projects are either part of a private program, a public program, or they are a “Standalone Project”. A project's location within one of these three types of spaces is one of the factors that determines who has access to view and edit project content.
Program managers and admins define their program as either "Private" or "Public" in the Program Summary section of PROGRAM OVERVIEW > Summary. The Standalone space is always "Public" (project access is defined at the Miradi project level).
Standalone Projects
Access to Miradi project content in the Standalone space is controlled by the Project Access State and an individual Miradi user's User Role (Project Member status).
Visitors to Miradi Share who are not logged in can only see content for projects in the Standalone space if the Project Access State is set to "Public".
For logged-in Miradi users, basic introductory information about all Standalone projects is available to view. For example, in the Shared Projects table, any logged in user can see the information shown below, including the Project Name and Description, recent Activity, and the Publish Status.
On a project's home page in the Standalone space, logged in users can Contact the Team and see the information on the Summary page. This includes
- Project Summary (Name and Description)
- Project boundary
- Project Timeframe
- Project Status (latest), and
- basic Project Metrics.
Miradi makes this information available to logged-in users in order to help build connections between conservation teams and facilitate shared learning across the global conservation community.
Projects in the "Standalone" space are not part of any program and therefore do not contain any cross-project or program-level information (e.g. program-specific classifications) that would need to be managed.
Public Programs
Basic introductory information about public programs is available to all visitors to Miradi Share, whether logged in or not. Public programs can be accessed from the Shared Projects view if projects within the programs are also Public.
On the Program Overview page of Public Programs, all basic information on the Summary page is visible to all visitors to Miradi Share, as shown below. All Miradi Share visitors can also Contact the Program Manager of Public Programs and access any public PROJECTS, public project data under REPORTS & DATA, as well as Maps, People and associated Files & Links.
Detailed information about non-public Miradi projects within a Public Program is dependent on a Project's Access State and the Miradi User's Role, as a Project Member and/or Program Member. Although all viewers can access program-level REPORTS & DATA VIEWS, content for individual projects within the program will only be visible in those program-level views if a Miradi user is logged in and has the appropriate User Role at the Project or Program Member level.
Private Programs
Information about private programs and their projects is only available to program members, to members of projects within the program, and to members of the organization that owns the program. Miradi Share visitors who are not logged in, and logged in Miradi users who are not members of the program or any projects within the program can not see any of the basic or detailed information of private programs.
Access to program-level content within a private program is determined by a Miradi user's Program Membership level. Access to project content within a private program is determined by a combination of a Miradi user's role as a Program Member and Project Member, as well as the Project Access State.
