The Conservation Actions and Measures Library (CAML) is an open-source library of Results Chains illustrating theories of change for the most common conservation actions. Housed in Miradi Share, CAML is based on the idea that we can be more efficient and effective by learning from one another.
CAML entries are organized by the CMP Conservation Actions 2.0 classification (an update to the original IUCN Conservation Actions 1.1 classifications) and contain generic Results Chains, as well as standard objectives and indicators. In some cases, CAML also includes specific Results Chains provided by Miradi project teams willing to share their own work.
The CAML chains serve as starting points for teams to develop specific Results Chains for their conservation programs. They can also form the basis for selecting common indicators to assess action effectiveness.

Search CAML for content
Once you are in CAML, search for the conservation actions you are interested in. Click on the action Name on the left to open the project and find example theories of change for that conservation action.
You can also search for example objectives and indicators, and navigate to the related theory of change to see how it is used. Find an objective or indicator in the table, click on the associated Project in the far right column, and navigate to the Theory of Change tab to find Results Chains containing the objective.
Copy content from CAML into your own Miradi projects
If you have an active Miradi account and you are logged in to Miradi Share, you can copy CAML Results Chains to your own Miradi project to use as starter content:
- To copy a single theory of change for a conservation action, click the Copy button in the upper right of the CAML Results Chain diagram canvas.
- To copy the entire project with multiple theories of change, use the Copy button in the upper right of the Miradi project window.
