Miradi is designed to support practitioners through implementation of the steps that comprise the Conservation Standards project management cycle from conceptualization and implementation to sharing and fostering learning.
In order to achieve our goals, the conservation community must be able to determine which actions work, and which do not. Making the most of the extensive, trial-and-error experience gained by conservation organizations, the members of the Conservation Measures Partnership (CMP) developed a set of project cycle or adaptive management standards that are reflected in the work of all member organizations. We believe the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation (Conservation Standards) are fundamental to effective conservation.
The goal of the Conservation Standards is to bring together common concepts, approaches, and terminology in conservation project and program design, management, and monitoring in order to help practitioners improve the practice of conservation. In particular, these standards are meant to provide the principles, tasks, and guidance necessary for the successful implementation of conservation projects. They ensure that projects and programs maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of their investments for maximum conservation gain.
