What is the difference between Miradi Share and Miradi Desktop?
Miradi Share, an online application, and Miradi Desktop, aka "Desktop", work together. Miradi was initially designed as a desktop software system. More recently, Miradi Share was developed as a companion online system for sharing information. Our goal is to move all Desktop functionality online so users have the option of working entirely online.
At this point, some teams find they can do all their work online and don't need to use Desktop, while others need to use both systems. Still others can only use Desktop due to software requirements of their organizations.
Do I have to purchase a Desktop license separately?
No. If you purchase a Pro or Team Plan, it comes with a Desktop license. See Plans & Pricing for more information.
Currently, Miradi Share enables project teams to edit many data fields directly online, but still requires "checking out" a Miradi project to edit some work plan and budget content in Miradi Desktop. A Desktop license is therefore included in all paid Miradi plans. Eventually, full online editing capabilities will be enabled, at which point Miradi Desktop will no longer be required. Miradi Desktop will continue to be available as a legacy system.
What is the difference between my personal Miradi Account and a Pro or Team Plan?
Every user of Miradi must set up a free Miradi Account. This account gives you access to all public content in Miradi and any individual Miradi projects or team spaces to which you have been invited, but your project creation and editing permissions are limited.
In order to create and edit your own Miradi projects, your account must be covered by a paid Pro Plan or Team Plan. You can be invited to join a team space managed by an organization with a Team Plan, or you can purchase your own Pro or Team Plan. See Plans & Pricing for more information.
What happens to my Miradi Account if I do not renew my paid plan?
If you do not renew your paid Pro or Team Plan, you will not lose access to your Miradi Account but your access to Miradi projects and any team spaces will revert to view only. You will no longer be able to edit content online or check projects out for editing in Miradi Desktop. In team spaces, if the Team Plan is not renewed, the space will be archived and all team members will only be able to view content online. If you renew your plan, full access to your projects and team spaces will be restored.
If you do not renew your plan Miradi Desktop software will continue to work indefinitely, but you will not be able to download future software updates. In addition, older versions of Miradi Desktop may not be able to open projects created in newer versions of the software.
What happens to my data if I close or suspend my Miradi Account or do not renew my paid plan?
You can always choose to delete your online data, but if you close your account or do not renew your plan without deleting your data, we will maintain your data in an archived state in which it can be viewed, but not edited and updated. If you renew your plan, your data will then again be editable.
