We would like Miradi to be accessible to as many people as possible. Our goal is to provide a self-sustaining software platform that helps make conservation practice more effective; all user fees go directly to managing and improving Miradi. If we could offer Miradi for free, we would, but we're not quite there yet.
We offer a number of reduced pricing options for individuals and teams, and our Team pricing structure is based on the number of projects you are actively using with your teams, not the number of Miradi users. You can invite as many people to join your Miradi team as you want to!

How much does Miradi cost?
In general, Miradi users can view any projects for free with a Collaborator Account. In order to edit or create Miradi projects, your account must be covered by either a Pro Plan or a Team Plan. If you are working with partners, check to see if your Miradi Account is covered by their plan.
Setting up your Miradi Account is free and allows you to view any project you are invited to. If you have been invited to view someone else's Miradi project, visit the Pricing page to set up your Collaborator Account.
In order to edit Miradi projects or create new Miradi projects, your account must be covered by a paid Pro Plan or Team Plan. Plans start at $350 USD per year for a Pro Plan and $500 USD for a Team Plan. All paid Miradi plans include Miradi Desktop software for one year and access to email support. If you cannot afford this pricing, learn more about reduced pricing options.
Miradi Desktop can also be purchased separately if your organization does not allow use of cloud-based software or you have limited online access. Contact us to start a conversation about a Desktop-only plan.
See Plans & Pricing for a complete summary of features and plans.
Does Miradi offer reduced pricing options?
Yes! We offer low-income subscriptions for Pro Plans ($100 per year) or Team Plans (price dependent on the number of projects) to any user who self-declares they are not able to afford our standard rates. If you cannot pay by credit card or afford our low-income rates, please contact us and we will accommodate your needs.
Are there special rates available for universities?
Yes, we can provide a Miradi program space for university courses at special rates. Contact us for details.
How many projects am I paying for under my plan?
With a Collaborator Account your Miradi subscription is covered by someone else's Pro or Team Plan. For Collaborators there is no limit on the number of projects you can access via invitation, but you can not create or edit any projects unless you are covered by your organization or a partner's Team Plan. In the Team space, the number of projects you can create depends on the Team Plan size.
If you have a Pro Plan you can create an unlimited number of projects in the Standalone space. With a Pro Plan you can invite others to view your Miradi projects, and other Miradi users with a Pro Plan can edit your projects. If you anticipate doing most of your work in collaboration with others, consider purchasing a Team Plan.
With a Team Plan you pay for the number of active* projects in your program. See Plans & Pricing for the most up to date information. Updated 2024 prices are shown below:
* How many projects can we have at each Team Plan pricing level?
You are only paying for active Miradi projects, or those that are actively being used to develop and manage conservation activities. For example, if you have three Miradi projects for three national parks that you are working in, you would need a Team Plan that covers 2-4 projects.
There are two other types of Miradi projects that will not count toward your plan price:
- Archived Projects: We have found that Miradi users often need to archive old projects as conservation plans are updated, but it is still helpful to be able to access and view the content in these projects. You can change a project's Publish Status to "Archive" under PROJECT ADMIN / Miradi Project Versions. Once archived, a project will no longer count toward your team's active projects and you do not have to pay for it.
- "Sandbox" Projects: Many Miradi users find it useful to create separate Miradi projects to brainstorm and test out new ideas, revise content without affecting the active project, or just have a safe place to play around and learn to use Miradi software. For this reason, we allow you to create as many Draft projects as you would like to within your program space, without counting them against your Team Plan. Eventually we will create a "sandbox" designation for these projects, but until then, we ask that you use the Project Publish Status (see image above) to note whether a project is active (Publish or Review status), Draft, or Archive. Note that Pro Plan members do not have a limit on the number of projects they can create in the Standalone space.
Why is the pricing structure based on the number of projects rather than the number of users?
Many software systems require each individual user to ‘pay for a seat’ to use the system. At Miradi, we want to encourage teams to share their projects widely with project team members, partners and stakeholders, and the global conservation community. For this reason we make Miradi free for all people to view any project shared with them, and edit any project shared for editing.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Pro Plans are paid by credit card. Once you have set up your Basic Access Account, purchase an Individual Plan at Plans & Pricing. If you can not pay by credit card, please contact us.
Team Plans are paid by credit card or invoice.
Since Miradi is open source software, why do you charge money for Miradi plans and desktop downloads?
We make uncompiled source code to Miradi available under the terms of the General Public License (GPL) . However, as is permitted under the GPL, we charge a fee to download compiled files (aka Miradi desktop software) and to access online collaboration features. All revenues raised from these fees go to support the ongoing development and support of Miradi and to provide support to Miradi users.
Can I purchase additional Miradi technical support for myself and my team?
Yes! Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing customized Miradi support for your team.
