Is my Miradi data secure?
We care deeply about data security and strive to follow best practices. All Miradi Desktop data are stored locally on your system. All Miradi Share data are stored on Sitka's servers in the United States with full backup. We can also electronically transfer backup copies to your organization. Please contact support with any questions or for help with your organization's security questionnaire. Note that Miradi Desktop is whitelisted by several US Federal agencies; we are currently exploring options to have Miradi Share meet US Federal and other Government agency security needs. See the Miradi Data Privacy and Security Policy for more information.
Is my Miradi data private?
While we hope users will be willing to share their work with the global community, you control who can see and edit your data. Miradi desktop content is only accessible to those people you share your Miradi desktop project files with directly. Access to your Miradi content online can be set at the Miradi program level in the Summary section,
and at the Miradi project level, under the Team Members section.
What is the difference between public vs private programs?
Public programs are visible to anyone who accesses Miradi, whether they have a Miradi account or not. Public projects within a public program are also visible to anyone who visits Miradi online.
Private programs can be accessed by invitation only. Miradi users can be added to the program under the Members tab,
and a Miradi user's access to program-level content, and the content of projects within the program, is set by defining their program role. See Miradi Data Privacy and Permissions for more information about program-level permissions.
What is the difference between public vs non-public projects?
A project's “access” can be set as public or it can be restricted to the project team, an organization, or the Miradi program within which the project is housed.
A public project is viewable by anyone who visits Miradi, whether they have a Miradi account or not. Projects with restricted access are only accessible by the project team, program members, or organization members, depending on the Project Access setting. See Project Access State for more information about project level access and permissions.
Can I redact specific content in my Miradi projects?
Yes. In some cases, teams need to use one or more of the Miradi data fields for sensitive information, e.g. property addresses, landowner names, financial data, etc. If you would like to set up custom redaction rules for your projects, please submit a support request.
